Linebacker Ryan Donohue, whose departure from Maryland was announced last week, will transfer to Connecticut according to the Hartford Courant.

Donohue, who served as a backup to Alex Wujciak and Demetrius Hartsfield last year and also played on special teams, will be reunited with his former defensive coordinator. Don Brown left Maryland for Connecticut in February to join new Huskies coach Paul Pasqualoni‘s staff.

Donohue will have two years of eligibility remaining. He did not redshirt as a true freshman, instead playing a role on special teams over seven of the final eight games of the 2009 season.

Last year, Donohue made eight tackles while playing in all 13 games. He also returned an interception for a touchdown against Wake Forest.
