Realistically, the Colonial Athletic Association has one path to earning three NCAA tournament bids: A Virginia Commonwealth victory over Old Dominion in Monday’s conference final.
Still, at this very moment, VCU could stake a claim to one of the final at-large berths.

The scenarios change in another 11 hours or so. Either VCU earns its way into the field, or its profile takes a mild hit with a loss to the Monarchs. Between other borderline tournament teams getting the chance to improve their stock in the next week and potential conference tournament upsets, VCU would likely be headed for the NIT if it falls to Old Dominion.
