BALTIMORE —- Virginia midfielder Colin Briggs sat out Saturday’s 14-8 defeat of Virginia for a “team matter,” coach Dom Starsia said.

Starsia said he would discuss the redshirt junior’s status for Monday’s title game on Sunday.

Briggs has 24 goals and 12 assists for the Cavaliers (12-5). He has started eight games after beginning the season on the second midfield line.

Without Briggs, Virginia started Matt White on the first midfield. White, who typically plays attack, had a goal and two assists.
