Friday brings the start of college basketball practice. And that means it’s time for Midnight Madness in College Park.

(Yes, it’s close enough to midnight now to count and actually warrant the old name, even if Maryland might not agree).

In any case, Maryland announced this morning four pretty significant names expected to play in the alumni game during the festivities.

Steve Blake.

Juan Dixon.

Byron Mouton.

Chris Wilcox.

Yep, that’s four of the starters off the 2002 national title team. The only absentee is Lonny Baxter, who it appears is playing in Russia these days.

Mike Grinnon, a reserve on the 2002 team, is also among the expected attendees, as are 1990s star Johnny Rhodes and 2009 graduate Dave Neal.

The alumni game is set for 10:30 p.m. at Comcast Center, with the introduction of both the men’s and women’s team to follow at 11 p.m. Doors open at 9 p.m.
