NEW YORK —- George Washington was picked to finish eighth in the Atlantic 10 in a voting of conference coaches and media.

Xavier and Temple, the two most consistent powers in the league in recent years, were picked first and second. Richmond, which advanced to the NCAA tournament’s round of 16 last season, was picked fifth.

George Washington guard Tony Taylor was part of the preseason all-conference first team. The senior averaged 15.0 points and 4.6 assists last season.
