Maryland’s injury report is out.
One freshman linebacker will definitely start Saturday against No. 8 Clemson. Two freshmen linebackers will probably start. And there’s a real chance three freshmen linebackers could start against the Tigers.
SEE RELATED:
Demetrius Hartsfield, who limped off early in the second half last week against Georgia Tech, is out. Kenny Tate, whose right leg was heavily wrapped during warmups last week and didn’t play, is again doubtful. And Darin Drakeford, who has missed three of the last four games with an ankle injury, is questionable.
That group could be replaced by some combination of Mario Rowson (for Tate), Lorne Goree (presumably at middle linebacker) and Alex Twine (at weak-side linebacker).
In addition, defensive tackle Andre Monroe is out again with an ankle injury.
