Tea party groups plan to protest IRS offices across the country on Tuesday in the wake of recent revelations that the agency placed heightened scrutiny on investigating the non-profit status of certain conservative organizations.
“On behalf of Tea Party, Patriot groups, 9/12, liberty activists and the American people, we are calling for anyone and everyone to protest the IRS’ complete abuse of power on Tuesday, May 21, 2013 at noon local time,” reads a missive on the Tea Party Patriots’ website.

ABC News also reports that the American Center for Law and Justice will be taking legal action on behalf of many of the groups targeted by the tax service.
“We are going to focus on a lack of standards and the treatment they were given and the wrong criteria utilized,
The group represents 27 groups that feel they were unfairly targeted by the IRS, according to ABC. Ten of the groups have pending applications for tax-exempt status, and 15 did receive tax-exempt status.
