Republican Sen. Kelly Ayotte said Monday that Obamacare needs “a full timeout” because its rollout has been “a mess” that extends beyond its flawed federal website, HealthCare.gov.

The New Hampshire senator said her constituents are facing higher premiums and complaining of canceled health plans that do not meet the Affordable Care Act’s standards.

“So I would like us to take a complete timeout, and let’s work together,” she told CBS’s “This Morning.” “This law was passed on a partisan basis. I think there are some areas where we can work together. But right now what’s happening, there’s so many complaints and so many concerns. And I would think that the president would want to address them and get this right.”

She said there are political realities that prevent Republicans from repealing the law.

“So let’s put that aside for a minute,” she told CBS. “I’m talking about a timeout where you’re not implementing the law right now. … Let’s convene a bipartisan group and say how do we get this right for health care in the country. That didn’t happen in the beginning.”
