The Madison Project launched a new ad Monday that bashes Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, Kentucky Republican, for failing to stop the health care law during budget negotiations.

“After allowing his conference to sabotage the House Republican fight against Obamacare, McConnell unilaterally agreed to surrender every aspect of this unworkable law. He has also made it clear that he will preemptively surrender any future leverage against Obamacare as long as a Democrat is in the White House,” Project president Drew Ryun wrote in a press release.

The ad shows clips of political analysts talking about how the final deal to reopen the government last week was ultimately a win for Democrats while many Republican priorities, like defunding Obamacare, got left out. It also raises the issue of a $2 billion dam project in Kentucky that was inserted into the continuing resolution, though Mr. McConnell denied any involvement in that part of the deal. Other senators and the Obama administration have made similar denials about Mr. McConnell being involved.

The Madison Project, a conservative political action committee, endorsed Matt Bevin in the Senate Republican primary in Kentucky earlier this year.
