The first groups of the morning wave are about to finish up, and so far there have been plenty of birdies to be had at Congressional.

D.A. Points, Daniel Chopra, Cameron Beckman and last year’s AT&T National champion Anthony Kim are tied for the lead at 5-under. The quartet has combined for 23 birdies and just three bogeys, taking advantage of the relatively favorable morning conditions.┬áBeckman got off to the fastest start, storming out of the gate with birdies on the first three holes.

Kim’s playing mates, Jim Furyk (3-under) and Davis Love III (2-under), are also off to strong starts.
