The Washington Times - December 21, 2008, 05:18PM

The Washington Wizards for a third straight game will go with a starting lineup of Mike James, DeShawn Stevenson, Andray Blatche and Caron Butler and Antawn Jamison as they take on the visiting Dallas Mavericks.

Dallas will start Jason Kidd and Josh Howard in the back court, Erick Dampier at center and Devean George and Dirk Nowitzki at the forward positions.

Oleksiy Pecherov again will be inactive today.

Nowitzki leads the Mavs with 26.3 points a game, but the Wizards must be mindful of Jason Terry, who comes off the bench, averaging 21.1 points in 35 minutes a game. Wizards coach Ed Tapscott has reminded his bench players of the importance of bringing a similar energy so Washington isn’t outdone by Terry and his relief cast. Look for Dominic McGuire, the Wizards’ versatile forward, to get a number of assignments. Tap said at times he will be asked to guard Terry, other times Kidd and other times Nowitzki. Basically, whoever has it going. Dom has steadily seen his minutes increase, and although his contributions don’t often show up int he box score, the Wizards count him as a valuable piece of the puzzle.
