Already struggling through four games this season, point guard Antonio Daniels will miss tonight’s game with a sore right knee, coach Eddie Jordan said.

Daniels, who this season is averaging just 5.5 points and 4.5 assists in 24.3 minutes a game, missed nine games last season after injuring the same knee. Jordan said it has bothered him off and on during the early going this season, and last night it swole up on him.

Juan Dixon, coming off last night’s impressive effort, in which he posted career high 11 assists, a career high eight rebounds, will start at point guard. Dixon this season has given the Wizards strong play off the bench, averaging 6.5 points and 4.5 assists in 17.3 minutes a game.

In other news, Gilbert Arenas is just bubbling over with Obama pride. Arenas, who already ordered copies of Tuesday’s edition of every major news paper in the country, has now gotten new ink to proclaim the historic election.

Starting on the pinkie finger of his left hand, and proceeding to the next three fingers — each one bearing one word — is Change We Believe In. and on the outside side of his pinkie is ‘44’ for Barak Obama. Gil says he landed in Orlando last night — rather early this morning — zipped over to Miami (three hour drive) where “his guy” did the art work. Teammate Etan Thomas licked his thumb and rubbed each finger to make sure that Arenas wasn’t pulling everyone’s leg and hadn’t just written on his fingers. But, nothing smudged. Arenas also had a mural of Obama and his family painted on a wall in his house.

“Hopefully he’ll come to some basketball games,” Agent Zero said. “When he does, I’m already having the 44 jersey made up and having him sign it for me, because when Beyonce came, I had number 1 made up for her because she’s the top lady.”
