The Wizards concluded their early practice session for today, capping the day with a spirited scrimmage

Eddie Jordan said he liked the fire with which his players competed despite the fact that it was following a long, tough practice.

DeShawn Stevenson was in mid-season form, knocking down 3’s and doing his I-can’t-feel-my-face move, and arguing calls.

JaVale McGee showed off his amazing length and freakish athleticism, going down the lane from the foul line in one step while catching a lob from Dee Brown and easily laying it in. Later he caught a pass on the perimeter, put the ball on the floor and blew baseline past Brendan Haywood for a reverse dunk. And a short time later he stuffed Etan Thomas who was going up under the hoop.

Dee Brown backed up what Jordan has been saying about his shot having improved. He jumped to catch a cross-court pass from DerMarr Johnson and went right back up, nailing a 3 as the shot clock sounded.

Antonio Daniels was involved in a collision early in the scrimmage and had to be helped off the court after banging knees with a teammate.

Taj McCullough watched from an exercise bike because of a right ankle sprain. Dominic McGuire also sat with a strained groin. And Antawn Jamison continued to rest his him strain.

The Wizards practice again tonight at 6.
