The Washington Times - August 4, 2009, 01:10PM

The schedule is out, and the Washington Wizards now know they will tip off the 2009-10 season on the road against the Dallas Mavericks on October 27.

Four days later, the Wizards host the New Jersey Nets for their home opener, and three days after that, Washington travels to take on the hated Cleveland Cavaliers on Nov. 3 at Quicken Loans Arena.

The Wizards will play on only one major holiday, Easter Sunday, at home against the Nets. Washington will play seven of their 82 games on ESPN, and one on TNT.

Twenty-two of their 41 home games will be played on either Friday, Saturday or Sunday.

The Wizards get their first look at Blake Griffin on Monday, Dec. 14, at 10:30 p.m. They’ll play Griffin and the Los Angeles Clippers again at home on Sunday, Jan. 24. Two days later, Kobe Bryant and the defending champion Lakers come to town.

And in an ESPN-televised game, Washington will close out the regular season on April 14 at home against the Indiana Pacers.
