The Wizards just concluded practice and hope to build on the ballanced performance they put on yesterday, which not only saw Caron Butler, Antawn Jamison and Nick Young have strong offensive games, but also featured strong defensive play in key situations.

The Wizards have been within striking distance of Atlanta twice this season, only to stumble in the closing minutes.

Andray Blatche took part in some of today’s drills, but still remains a ways off, according to Ed Tapscott. He said the knee still doesn’t quite look right, so I wouldn’t be surprised if he doesn’t make a return until after All-Star break.

Gilbert Arenas had another closed-court one-on-one game with Nick Young today, and both players came off the court with a pretty good lather worked up.
