The Wizards held their third and fourth summer league mini-camp practice sessions today, and shortly after the conclusion, cut center Lang, swingmen Ryan Ayers and Dwayne Andersen and forward Diamon Simpson.
The squad is now down to 14 players, and it’s possible that the Wizards will make two more cuts on Monday following their final practice session, which runs from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m., and then the team flies out to Las Vegas where on Tuesday, they will play the Cleveland Cavaliers at 6:30 p.m. Eastern Standard time.

The 6-foot-10 Lang was hoping to use a strong summer league showing with the Wizards to campaign for a second chance with the franchise. He played 11 games for Washington during the 2006-07 season, but was released because he was badly out of shape and tipped the scales at 325 pounds. After two D-League stints and a season of pro ball in Israel, Lang returned to the District, weighing 280 pounds. But he obviously didn’t show enough potential in Saturday and Sunday’s mini-camp sessions for the Wizards to keep him aboard.
Today’s sessions were closed to the media, but I’m told by team spokesman Scott Hall that after missing both of Saturday’s sessions with flu-like symptoms, Nick Young was back on the floor today.
