I’m home for this road trip because of budget issues, but here’s a little slightly humorous nugget of info I stumbled upon in the locker room the other night, but didn’t get a chance to use:

The Wizards were getting ready for the Orlando Magic and would be wearing their white Zephyr uniforms with gold trim and I noticed Javaris Crittenton lacing up a pair of white and gold high tops. This was new because since he joined the team back in December, he’s been wearing Gilbert Arenas’ low-top signature shoe. (Gil gave Crittenton a pair his first day with the team, and he’d been sporting the shoes ever since). It was only the second time in Crittenton’s basketball life that he’d worn low tops (the first time being a brief stint in high school), but he liked the Gils because they were so light. However, after three months in Arenas’ shoe, Crittenton decided to make a switch.
“The bottoms wear out too fast,” Crittenton explained. “I normally wear a shoe, like, two games, but the grips wear out too fast. So, I decided to switch to these.”
The new shoe of choice is just a standard Adidas high top shoe, Crittenton said. “I had been wearing the low tops because they were so light, but these are light, too. I like them.” Crittenton, as pictured here wore the shoes again Sunday against the Kings. After two games, Crittenton still was pleased with the white and gold shoes and said he plans on sticking with them.
Man, another disappointing break for Gil this season.
