The Wizards in a short time will take on the visiting Atlanta Hawks, who arived in the District at 6 a.m. after their flight was delayed because of wintery weather in Atlanta. So obviously, Ed Tapscott and his crew will try to pounce on the Hawks and take advantage of the fatigue. Also motivating the Wizards is the 0-3 record they hold against the Hawks, and their 0-12 record in the Southeast Division.

When asked about that 0-12 mark just a bit ago during his pre-game press conference, Ed said that he hadn’t been aware that his team had yet to win in the division but that he was definitely going to use it as a talking point.
The Wizards will start their usuals, and they will have Javaris Crittenton back at backup point guard after he missed Saturday’s game with the flu.
An update on DeShawn Stevenson … The guard will go ahead and have the surgery to repair a herniated disc in his back. He’ll go under the knife on Thursday and will be out for the rest of the season. When DeShawn told me last Friday that he was considering having the surgery, he said he was told by doctors that he should be back to doing full basketball activities roughly in May.
