Greetings from Redskin Park, where the post mortem continues after an 8-8 season. Some of us media folk are bleary-eyed from the red eye flight home and then 9:25 a.m. open locker room. A couple of nuggets before Jim Zorn talks at 12:25 p.m.

*Running back Clinton Portis hopes to avoid surgery on any of his various injuries sustained during the second half of the season but defensive tackle Kedric Golston will have an operation on his foot to take care of bone spurs.

*The consensus in the locker room — the offensive guys are pointing the finger at themselves for the second-half collapse. “I don’t have all the answers but on offense, we have to score more points and it’s been like that since I’ve been here,” right guard Randy Thomas said.

*Chris Horton said he sustained a minor concussion in the second half at San Francisco. “I wasn’t really knocked out,” he said. “It was like one of those things that shakes up your brain a little bit. They asked me how I felt and I told them I was woozy and a little out of it. I came here today and took a test and did some things and I think I fared pretty well.”

I’ll have more later.
