As if this day couldn’t any crazier for the Redskins what with the punter fiasco comes this: A team source said former Seattle running back Shaun Alexander will be in town tomorrow for a work out. Backup RB Ladell Betts sustained a sprained knee and his status for the next few weeks is obviously in peril if the Redskins are bringing in Alexander, the NFL MVP in 2005.

Alexander played for Seattle his entire career but has remained unsigned this season. His days as an every-down back are probably done but he could be an option to spell Portis, who leads the NFL in carries.
