The Pro Bowl rosters have been announced and the Redskins’ only representative so far is rookie linebacker Brian Orakpo.
Orakpo is tied for the team lead with 11 sacks.

Middle linebacker London Fletcher was left off the roster even though he’s on way to leading his team in tackles for a 10th consecutive year. New Orleans’ Jonathan Vilma is the reserve middle linebacker.
Orakpo is the only rookie on either team, but that could change depending on alternates.
His statement from the team:
“This is a tremendous honor and a wonderful surprise. I never really look at individual awards because I am a team-oriented guy. I just want to thank my coaches and teammates for their support and guidance throughout the year. I share this honor with them and I am excited to represent the Washington Redskins at the Pro Bowl.”
Said coach Jim Zorn: “We are all very excited for Brian for receiving this well deserved honor. He is a great athlete, who came in and performed well as a young player while learning and playing dual positions in his rookie season. He has demonstrated to be durable and explosive. His work ethic and practice habits have not only helped him individually, but made our team better.”
