Several of the offensive tackles have been to the interview room but only one of the big names — Alabama‘s Andre Smith.
Emphasis on the word “big.”
SEE RELATED:
Smith said he checked in at 6-foot-4, 332 pounds. He said his playing weight is 330 and he’s never weighed more than 345.
Last week, draft analysts Mike Mayock and Mel Kiper Jr. expressed concern about Smith’s weight battle. But Smith says, “I’ve never had a weight issue.”
Smith said he’s already met with the Redskins, one of the 60 15-minute interviews each team is allowed to conduct.
Baylor’s Jason Smith has met with Seattle and Cincinnati and he delivered the early quote of the day: “On the field, I take a lot of pride in physically assaulting somebody.”
Nicknamed “Smooth,” Smith was just that at the podium. He hopes to be the top pick and hopes to be gone within the first five picks.
Jim Zorn is scheduled to speak at 1:15 so I’ll check back after that.
