Redskins receiver Devin Thomas was on my plane back from Tampa. While waiting to board with his dad, Thomas noted that the last two Super Bowls have been won on last-minute touchdown catches by receivers from Big Ten schools: the Giants’ Plaxico Burress (Michigan State) and the Steelers’ Santonio Holmes (Ohio State).
Thomas, who caught just 15 passes with no touchdown receptions as a Redskins rookie in 2008 after being drafted 34th overall out of Michigan State, said he wants to keep that string going a year from now in Super Bowl XLIV in Miami.
