Playing time totals and a couple of other observations from the Redskins’ loss to Kansas City on Sunday. Totals are unofficial.


OFFENSE (54 snaps)

QB: Jason Campbell 29, Todd Collins 25.

RB: Clinton Portis 30, Mike Sellers 27, Ladell Betts 24.

TE: Chris Cooley 51, Fred Davis 13.

WR: Santana Moss 50, Devin Thomas 42, Antwaan Randle El 29, Malcolm Kelly 2.

Analysis: The biggest change from last week was Thomas being elevated to No. 2 receiver. He hadn’t played more than 25 snaps before this game. … Kelly’s totals has dropped the last three games from 50 to 28 to 2. … Cooley wasn’t on the field for the Redskins’ final snap — the safety. … Betts’ total was a season high. … Davis continues to get playing time but Sellers has taken over the tight end duties on some pass protection situations.


DEFENSE (74 snaps)

Analysis: Hayesworth’s playing time was a season high. … Carter played every snap for the first game this year. … Blades continues to get some here-and-there work to give Orakpo a break. … Smoot played a combined one snap in the Tampa and Carolina games but started vs. KC at safety and played 13 snaps. … Doughty’s total jumped from 20 (Carolina) to 60 (KC). … Horton’s total sunk from 58 snaps to a single play.
