Despite losing right guard Randy Thomas to a season-ending torn right triceps last week, coach Jim Zorn kept just seven linemen active for today’s game at Detroit.
Running back Marcus Mason and receiver Marko Mitchell, both active last week, are inactive. Cornerback Fred Smoot is back from the brusied ribs that kept him out last week and takes Mitchell’s spot. Running back Anthony Alridge, signed off Houston’s practice squad, adds an element of speed that Mason doesn’t possess.

The other inactives remain the same for a third straight game: offensive linemen D’Anthony Batiste and Edwin Williams; defensive linemen Anthony Montgomery and Renaldo Wynn; linebacker Robert Henson and cornerback Kevin Barnes.
