Today’s Water Cooler lineup of off the beaten path online stories are: Byrd’s coal comments rock W.Va., Pelosi Bars Republicans from Copenhagen Press Conference, and MSNBC’s Chris Matthews Slams the Left as Not Real Democrats.

  • Politico: Byrd’s coal comments rock W.Va.
An extraordinary recent statement by Sen. Robert Byrd has stunned his coal-dependent home state and left West Virginia politicians and business leaders scrambling to understand the timing and motivation behind his unexpected discourse on the future of the coal industry.
  • Human Events: Pelosi Bars Republicans from Copenhagen Press Conference
House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) today barred Republican members of the congressional delegation to Copenhagen for the U.N. “climate change” conference from participation in the official congressional press conference at Bella Center.
Matthews was referring to those on the Left who are defecting from support of President Obama’s Health Care push because they believe it does not go far enough toward a “single-payer” National Health Care system.
