FILE - In this March 17, 2014 file photo, former Louisiana Gov. Edwin Edwards speaks with reporters at the Baton Rouge Press Club in Baton Rouge, La., after announcing that he would join the race to represent the state’s Baton Rouge-based 6th District of the U.S. House of Representatives. With enthusiasm and vigor that belies his age, he’s running for Congress in south Louisiana in what would be his second resurrection from the political dead. Some say it’s a fool’s errand. But Edwards says he’s encouraged by the warm reception he received when he emerged from more than eight years in federal prison in 2011. (AP Photo/Travis Spradling, File)
