In this Friday May 31, 2019, photo, an inmate and dog handler walks a dog through the halls at the Mount Pleasant Correction Facility in Mount Pleasant, Iowa. Through the Fully Rescue Educational Development Program, inmates are paired with dogs from the PAW shelter in Fort Madison. The dogs stay with their handlers for about eight weeks, though that period sometimes varies based on the dogs' progress. Their handlers work with them extensively throughout their stay to correct problem behaviors and make them more suitable for adoption. (John Lovretta/The Hawk Eye via AP)
