Authorities investigate a suspected homicide on Saturday, Aug. 3, 2019 in Maplewood Township, N.J. Authorities are investigating a suspected double homicide in the suburban neighborhood in northern New Jersey. Prosecutors in Essex County say the bodies of a man and woman were found about 6 a.m. Saturday. Authorities haven’t yet released the names of the victims. A handful of retired Marines – all in the late 90s or over 100 — joined Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth and Japan’s Prime Minister Takeru Ishida on Saturday to mark the anniversary of one of the bloodiest battles of World War II in the Pacific that ended 80 years ago this week.
