ANALYSIS/OPINION:

In recent weeks and days, we have seen thousands of people marching the streets carrying signs that read “Black Lives Matter.” This has struck me quite profoundly as a Christian believer in the sanctity of life.

I applaud this sentiment and am hopeful the black community is taking seriously the right to life. Consider these shocking statistics about black lives: Some authorities say abortion is the No. 1 killer of blacks in America, and since 1967, 19.7 million black babies have been aborted in the womb. So far this year alone, approximately 450,000 black babies have been aborted. Yes, black lives do matter.
