JERSEY CITY, N.J. (AP) - Jersey City authorities say a seventh-grade student accused of bringing a loaded handgun to his school and pointing it at another student is now facing numerous charges.

The Jersey Journal (https://bit.ly/1fvXBaX) reports that the 14-year-old boy, whose name was not disclosed, was charged with making terroristic threats and weapons offenses after the incident at School 38 on Monday morning. He was being held at youth detention center in Secaucus.

Authorities said the .22-caliber weapon was not reported stolen, but they did not say how the boy got the gun.

No injuries were reported, and the school was never placed under lockdown.
