LONGVIEW, Wash. (AP) - A Kelso, Wash., woman is hoping for the return of videos of her now-deceased mother that were stolen from a truck parked in Portland.

KATU-TV reports (https://bit.ly/1hsjPIf ) that Janette Cade says she was in Portland last Friday for a night out with friends and left her truck in a parking garage near the Crystal Ballroom. Cade left a small duffel bag containing the videos while her friends left their purses in the truck. When they returned to the vehicle, all those things were gone.

A small cardboard jewelry box inside the duffel contained videos that Cade’s late mother, Cindy Hardin, started recording in 2012 after she learned she would soon die of lung cancer. The videos covered topics from family recipes to sewing instructions.

Cade says losing the videos feels “like my mom died all over again.” She’s hoping the thief will turn the box in to police.
