MCDONOUGH, Ga. (AP) - A Henry County church congregation is trying to regroup after its building was struck by lightning and damaged in a fire.

The pastor of McDonough Presbyterian Church, the Rev. Olin McBride, says the administrative offices suffered the worst smoke and water damage. Church leaders are also worried about smoke damage in the sanctuary.

McBride tells WSB-TV (https://bit.ly/1kc8LgB ) that he’s thankful the fire struck during the holiday weekend while the building was empty. No one was injured.

Fixing the damage may take months. The church is trying to figure out where it will hold services in the meantime.
