WAGONER, Okla. (AP) - Authorities have released the name of a pilot who was injured when his ultralight airplane crashed near the Wagoner airport.
Wagoner County Emergency Management Director Heath Underwood told reporters Thursday that 54-year-old Marvin McGrath of Wagoner was the only person on board the single-engine plane when it crashed and that McGrath remained hospitalized in fair condition.
The Wagoner County Sheriff’s Office says the pilot called dispatch at about 8:30 p.m. Wednesday to report a problem with his plane. The sheriff’s office says the plane crashed shortly thereafter just east of Hefner-Easley Airport.
A spokesman for the Federal Aviation Administration says the pilot was practicing takeoff and landing procedures when the plane crashed.
