Ebola, the Internal Revenue Service, Benghazi, unfettered illegal immigration — the list goes on and on. While Rome burns, the politicians see no evil, hear no evil and speak not a word against the evil being foisted on the citizens of the United States by an ideologically bankrupt president and his corrupt Democratic Party (“Green cards on the table,” Web, Oct. 20).

Our broken political system of never-ending congressional recesses and campaign absences leaves the country ripe for continued abuse by unelected political bureaucrats who in recent years have not once had the best interests of the American people as their core mission. Instead, they have served and continue to serve an elected puppet who seeks out only the interests of his campaign donors, much like a CEO marching to the demands of his investors.

America is doomed, as onetime Soviet leader Nikita Khrushchev predicted — not from a foreign enemy, but from within, by corrupt political forces that have beguiled and hoodwinked a gullible, compliant and mostly silent citizenry.

With Congress in yet another recess, we learn that President Obama plans to replenish the stock of reliable “victims” on whom the Democrats rely so heavily for their hold on power. They will bring tens of thousands of Haitians to the United States and give them green cards (with citizenship almost assured). Further we’ve learned the administration is sending out a draft solicitation notice for the winning bidder to manufacture up to nine million green cards by May 2015 in yet another end-run around the Constitution, the rule of law and the will of the people.

Remember all those non-American “visitors” that overstayed their tourist, work or educational visas, as well as the illegal hordes that have continuously invaded this country? They’re about to come out of “the shadows,” courtesy of Mr. Obama’s executive order. Where, might you ask, are Speaker of the House John A. Boehner and the Republicans? Campaigning, of course, making believe they have a plan.
