Thanks to Democrats, illegals in Virginia are one step closer to having the right to drive — legally — even though they’re, well, illegal.

Answer this, please: How come for the legal citizens of America, driving is a privilege, but for illegals, apparently, in Virginia, anyway, to Virginia Democrats, anyway, driving is a right?

Senate Democrats in the good commonwealth just passed legislation allowing thousands of illegal aliens the right to obtain what’s being affectionately dubbed “driver privilege cards.” The cards will supposedly explicitly state that the cardholders cannot vote — and ostensibly, the cards will not be able to be passed off as valid forms of government identification. But they give a free pass to illegals to drive.

They give illegals the ability to bypass that whole “driving without a license” ticket or arrest from police.

“I cannot tell you all how important this is for about 300,000 people living in Virginia,” said Sen. Scott Surovell, a Democrat for the 36th District, as quoted in the Prince William Times. The same Prince William Times that called the illegals “undocumented immigrants.”

Survell went on to say, “This bill is going to change people’s lives.”

How nice.

In order to obtain the card, illegals would have to show they file tax returns, or at the least, that they’re listed as a dependent on someone else’s tax return. And it’s not as if Virginia is alone in handing out the driving privileges to illegals. New York, Massachusetts — pretty much your liberal enclaves — either have or are moving forward with plans to allow illegals the legal right to drive.

But how many times have the rest of us — the legal citizens of America — heard this: “Driving Is a Privilege, Not a Right,” as DriversEd.com put it.

The website goes on to state: “Driving is not a constitutional right. You get your drivers license based on the skills you have and the rules you agree to follow. … No one has more right to the road than anyone else.”

No one, that is, except illegal aliens living in select spots of the country. Animal Farm, anyone? George Orwell says it best: Four legs are good, two legs better!

Democrats do love their chaos.
