Amidst the chaos that is the House of Representatives’ failure to elect a speaker, there’s another constitutional wrinkle that hasn’t been mentioned.

If, God forbid, President Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris were to die simultaneously, would the temporary speaker be sworn in as president? Or would Patty Murray, the current president pro tempore of the Senate, fill that position?
