Meet the new candidate — much worse than the older one.

When President Biden bowed to the pressure of Democratic Party elites and pulled out of the presidential race, he also gave the radical environmental movement one last gift: Vice President Kamala Harris.

First, we must acknowledge the truth. Mr. Biden will rightfully go down in history as the most unsuccessful and unpopular president ever. Record prices and inflation that would make President Jimmy Carter proud ultimately sunk Mr. Biden in the polls. After 14 million votes for Mr. Biden in the Democratic primary cycle, each of them will now turn into an election denier and support another nominee.

Mr. Biden wants the nominee to be Vice President Kamala Harris. Sadly for both, American voters should not unburden her from what has been. As his governing partner, Ms. Harris stood by and cheered every bad decision that made Mr. Biden sink in the polls.

The last time Ms. Harris ran for the top job, she trotted out a climate plan costing $10 trillion — enough to make even climate envoy John Kerry blush. Ms. Harris also wants to ensure we have 100% carbon-neutral electricity within six years. For perspective, Mr. Biden had called for that threshold by 2035. And Mr. Biden spent a comparatively paltry $369 billion on the green agenda by passing the Inflation Reduction Act. That inflation is still reaching into the pocket of every working American speaks to its failure. Mr. Biden, however, has spent less than 4% of what Ms. Harris wanted to, and that should frighten anyone who steps into a grocery store.

Speaking of grocery stores, Ms. Harris wants to dictate what you find there as well. Just as Mr. Biden worked to upend the car market by force-feeding the public electric vehicles, Ms. Harris would extend the idea to your kitchen table.

At a town hall meeting in August 2020, a reporter asked Ms. Harris, “Would you support changing the dietary guidelines? You know, the food pyramid to reduce red meat specifically?” To which Ms. Harris repeatedly responded that she would. Not satisfied with merely suggesting what we should eat, Ms. Harris also said, “As a nation, we actually have to have a real priority at the highest level of government around what we eat.” The highest level of government … to mandate what we eat. It gets worse.

Ms. Harris is an unashamed supporter of the Green New Deal championed by Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez. She also ensures we know she does not believe there is a climate crisis but rather a climate disaster. Even Mr. Biden wasn’t foolish enough to declare a climate disaster, but President Harris would have your kids locked out of school and in masks to save the Earth in no time.

While Ms. Harris’ 2020 presidential campaign was ill-fated and short-lived, we should take seriously and literally the policies she advocated.

Lost in the recent news cycle was this interesting note about climate extremists protesting the Democratic National Committee. Their goal, now accomplished, was to get Mr. Biden out of the race, even though Mr. Biden had bowed to their every demand and funneled them billions of taxpayer dollars. Yet it is still not enough for them. No matter what they get in terms of money or power, the mantra of the climate movement is always more. And in Kamala Harris, they have their candidate.

Even though Mr. Biden will not be on the ballot in November, his policies will be. And every American should vote as if their job and wallet depend on it.
