I am not insensitive to soldiers getting injured or dying in combat.

As a Vietnam War combat veteran, I am very aware of the risks faced by soldiers in combat zones and the fact that some of those in uniform pay the ultimate price, as very sadly happened to 17 American military men and women in the ongoing conflict with Iran.

It infuriates me, however, that Democratic members of Congress have chosen to use those 17 tragically lost lives as mere political fodder in their pursuit of political power. They are acting as if those dead service members matter to them.

The Iran conflict began on Feb. 28, 2026. In the nearly five months since, 175 people have been murdered in Chicago — mostly young Black men and children. Yet I cannot recall even one Democrat voice angrily denouncing that senseless loss of life. Not one.

Were those 175 victims less important than those killed in combat? Are the families of those 175 victims suffering less than those of the service members lost in this war?

Elected Democrats are disgusting hypocrites and are undeserving of anyone’s support.
