Iran is not happy with the term “Iran conflict” to describe the regime’s battle with the U.S. and Israel.

A top Iranian official said the wording “obscured responsibility for initiating the war and distorted the facts.”

Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmaeil Baqaei said “Iran conflict” shifts the burden of responsibility from the aggressors, the U.S. and Israel, to the country that was targeted.

“Let us not obscure the truth with misleading euphemisms. There is no such thing as ’Iran conflict.’ This is an unlawful ’war of aggression’ waged by the United States and Israel against Iran,” Mr. Baqaei said Friday on social media. “The refusal to call aggression by its name is not neutrality; it is moral evasion.”

He made the remarks in response to the use of “Iran conflict” in recent statements, including a joint message from Qatar and France.

“If we lack even the courage to identify the aggressor and name the aggression, how can we claim to have the moral courage to confront injustice, propose workable solutions, or contribute meaningfully to peace?” Mr. Baqaei said.

He said peace can’t be built by “appeasing aggressors, legitimizing aggression, condemning the victim, or sacrificing fundamental principles.”
