Theranos co-founder Elizabeth Holmes has been approved to serve the rest of her 10-year federal prison sentence for fraud at a halfway house in Texas beginning next year.
Holmes, 42, is scheduled to be placed in the Austin Transitional Center in Del Valle on Aug. 23, 2027, according to the Victim Notification System, an automated Department of Justice service that updates victims about offenders’ status.
The Federal Bureau of Prisons said Wednesday that it “does not discuss the conditions of confinement for any individual, including release plans.”
Holmes was originally sentenced in 2022 to 11 years 3 months in prison for defrauding investors with false claims about her company’s blood-testing technology. Her sentence was reduced to 10 years 3 months, and she is scheduled for release on Feb. 22, 2030.
Holmes is the subject of a documentary by filmmaker Nathan Fielder, “You Can See Everything,” set to be released Oct.16.
