TRAVELERS REST, S.C. (AP) - A young South Carolina woman has pleaded guilty to driving drunk and killing her friend, whose father allegedly bought the teenagers alcohol before the crash.

News outlets report Madison Michelle Bagwell accepted several charges Wednesday including DUI resulting in the death of 17-year-old Jessica Adams. Bagwell also agreed to testify against her father, 39-year-old Nicholas Jimmy Wayne Adams.

Court statements say Bagwell, now 20, lost control of her car last year, causing it to flip and eject Jessica Adams. A 13-year-old also was in the car and sustained a brain injury.

Statements say Bagwell’s blood alcohol level was .11 and Xanax was in her system. This is her second DUI case.

It’s unclear whether Bagwell or Adams has an attorney who can comment.
