The Truckee Meadows Fire Protection District of Washoe County Nevada covers the eastern slopes of the Sierra Nevada Mountains in Western Nevada. The county spans an area of nearly 6,600 square miles in the northwest section of the state bordering California and Oregon. Following the dissolution of the partnership TMFPD formed a new department in 2012 and subsequently merged with the Sierra Fire Protection District. The District's primary areas of responsibility include rural and suburban communities outside the City of Reno. By comparison; the City of Reno Fire Department responded to 42,069 calls for service in 2017 with a 2017/2018 budget of $47,042,175 averaging $1,118.21 per call, whereas, over the same time period, the Truckee Meadows Fire Protection District responded to 10,581 calls for service with a 2017/2018 budget of $27,932,275 averaging $2,639.85 per call. - Source: Wikipedia
