Jurcina in, Carlson, A. Gordon to be demoted

Bruce Boudreau says Milan Jurcina will play tomorrow night against Buffalo and Shaone Morrisonn is either questionable or probable to play against the Sabres. Boudreau said John Carlson and Andrew Gordon are getting sent back to Hershey, so it seems like Morrisonn will likely play. Tyler Sloan would play forward in that scenario.

Boudreau said Alex Ovechkin has some “bumps and bruises” but he will play tomorrow after taking today’s practice off. None of the other injured guys (specifically Tom Poti or Alexander Semin) will play.

The Caps coach said Jose Theodore is “mentally focused” and “ready to play” again, but Semyon Varlamov is doing a pretty good job of forcing their hand on who to play in goal.

“We have to be honest — [Varlamov] is playing pretty good,” Boudreau said. “He’s got the net and he is saying, ‘I want the net.’”
