It’s been a good week for House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi.

Not only did she announce she was was running again to be the Democratic leader in the House — a position she almost is certain to win when her caucus meets next month to vote for its leaders for the upcoming new Congress — the San Francisco lawmaker on Friday also received booty from friendly World Series wagers she made between her hometown Giants and the Detroit Tigers.

Along with bragging rights, Mrs. Pelosi received the following from Michigan congressmen in honor of the Giants’ win:

• A gift basket from Zingerman’s Deli from Rep. John D. Dingell
• A “Motown Basket” filled with Detroit-made items like Faygo Pop and Better Made Chips from Rep. John Conyers Jr.
• Chocolate from Sanders Fudge, Gayle’s Chocolate and Morley Candy, Garden Fresh Gourmet salsa and Vernors soda from Rep. Sander M. Levin
• American Coney Island and Lafayette Coney Island dogs from Rep. Hansen Clarke

At a news conference at the Capitol a day earlier, Mrs. Pelosi took spent several minutes to gush about her love of the Giants and the baseball team’s World Series sweep over the Tigers last month. A one point during the event she held up a baseball signed by several Giants greats, joking that it’s among her husband’s prized possessions.
