Add comedian Bll Maher to the long list of those on both the left and right who are panning President Obama’s debate performance Wednesday.

“I’m sorry, he sucked. He looked tired. He had trouble getting his answers out,” Mr. Maher said on his HBO show, “Real Time With Bill Maher,” on Friday. “Looks like he took my million and spent it all on weed.”

Mr. Maher drew headlines earlier this year when he donated $1 million to the pro-Obama Super PAC Priorities USA Action.

“At one point, Obama looked so dead, Romney tried to baptize him,” Mr. Maher said. “I kid, Mitt Romney. It’s ‘Mormon in America’ again. It is, for the Romney campaign.”

Of course, Mr. Maher didn’t let Mr. Romney completely off the hook either, saying that he was “in full command of his [expletive].”

“In one single night, he was reborn as this taxing-the-rich, regulation-loving centrist,” he said. “I tell you, when these people say they’re going to ‘reboot’ a campaign, they don’t just reboot, they erase the hard drive, take it out and smash it with a hammer.”

Instant polls showed that viewers, by a wide margin, thought Mr. Romney won the debate, and the former Massachusetts Gov. appears to have picked up a bounce in his poll numbers post-debate in the key swing states of Florida, Ohio and Virginia.
