The Wizards are minutes away from taking on the Houston Rockets, and they’ll do it without leading scorer Caron Butler, who missed the last game with a sprained ankle.
Butler was a game-time decision and did some light shooting at this morning’s shoot-around at Toyota Center, and then tested his ankle out again before the game.
The Wizards wanted him to be cautious as to avoid further damaging the ankle and in turn losing Butler for a more extended period of time.
“I advised him, ‘Don’t be a hero. We don’t want a two or three game thing to turn into a 10 game thing, so if it’s good, fine. If it’s not, get it healthy.’” Wizards coach Ed Tapscott said.
Nick Young started in place of Butler on Saturday, and will make his second straight start.
Otherwise, the Wizards will go with the usual starters: Mike James at point guard, Antawn Jamison and Dominic McGuire at the forward positions and Andray Blatche at center.
