A rare win

The Wizards finally got it all together tonight and snapped a six-game losing streak by thumping the Clippers 106-94. Now, they got some help from a very bad Clippers team, but a win’s a win.

One of the most impressive thing about the victory was the Wizards’ 49-38 rebounding advantage and the fact that they forced the Clippers into 25 turnovers, 10 of them coming in the first quarter.

With 25 points and 12 rebounds, Antawn Jamison — who now has 15,051 points on his career — recorded his fourth straight double-double, and his 24th of the season.

Nick Young, after going on a tear two weeks ago and then cooling in the past week, got his groove back for tonight with 22 points on 8-for-11 shooting. And JaVale McGee had 18 points to go with nine rebounds and a block. Now, if only the Wizards can get that type of effort — or performances even close to that — from them on a consistent basis.

The Wizards are off tomorrow and then will host the Memphis Grizzlies on Monday. Then come the Nets, who they have split with this season, what should be a tough test in the Denver Nuggets, and then the Indiana Pacers, who they should have a chance to beat.
