The Wizards have their summer league roster set, and leading the way are Nick Young, Dominic McGuire, Javaris Crittenton and JaVale McGee.
Others include James Lang, who spent 11 games with the Wizards during the 2006-07 season. The 6-foot-10, 285-pound center, played in 11 games that season, mustering just 1 point and 1 rebound a game. But the Central Park Christian High School (Alabama) product, who averaged 7.0 points and 4.3 rebounds in the D-League last season will give the Wizards some size.
Also on the squad is Gonzaga forward Josh Heytvelt, who was expected to be drafted after posting 14.9 points and 6.5 rebounds last season, and Notre Dame guard/forward Ryan Ayers, whose father Randy is the former Wizards assistant.
Georgia Tech forward Alade Aminu, Rhode Island guard Jimmy Baron, Kent State center Jon Edwards (a 7-foot, 275-pound two-year veteran), Coppin State guard Tywain McKie, Boston College guard Tyrese Rice, Florida State guard Jason Rich, West Virginia guard Alex Ruoff, Saint Marry forward Diamon Simpson, San Diego State forward Kyle Spain and South Carolina forward Brandon Wallace round out the squad.
The Wizards will hold mini-camp to prep for the Vegas Summer League from July 10-13. On the Wizards’ schedule, which runs from July 14 to 19, is Cleveland, Denver, Minnesota, the Clippers and Knicks.
