TRR: Iranian Nukes are Thunderstruck

← return to The Robbins Report

The Iranian nuclear program has been hit with a severe case of heavy metal. Al Arabiya reports that technicians at two of Iran’s secret nuclear facilities were startled in the middle of the night when their computer consoles started blaring AC/DC’s classic metal hit “Thunderstruck” at full volume. Mikko Hypponen at Finnish Internet security site F-Secure Security Labs received a letter from an unnamed Iranian scientist who said their nuclear program “has once again been compromised and attacked by a new worm with exploits which have shut down our automation network at Natanz and another facility Fordo near Qom.” The letter said that “there was also some music playing randomly on several of the workstations during the middle of the night with the volume maxed out. I believe it was playing ‘Thunderstruck’ by AC/DC.”

The warning message to the scientists is clear. As the lyrics go:

Beatin’ in my heart

The thunder of guns!

Tore me apart

You’ve been - thunderstruck!!!!

Whoa baby, baby, thunderstruck

You’ve been thunderstruck, thunderstruck

Thunderstruck, thunderstruck

You’ve been thunderstruck

Coming up next, Bob Dylan’s “A Hard Rain’s A-Gonna Fall.”
